What Next For Sergio Ramos, United, PSG or Chelsea?

 Possibilities are endless for Sergio Ramos after his departure with Real Madrid and many clubs will be interested to get his services 

On 17th of June 2021, Real Madrid officially announced that their Club Captain, Sergio Ramos will be leaving Real Madrid, the sight of Ramos giving his speech at the podium was emotional one for every Real Madrid fans, Mr.Real Madrid would be a befitting title for the contribution Ramos has made to this club, and he will surely be missed by the fans and Real Madrid in coming years.

But this did not come as a surprise as both the player and club were on different pages when it came to his contract, Ramos was on his last year of contract and wanted another 2 years of renewal, on the other hand the Club was reluctant on that stand and offered only 1 year of a contract, this was revealed by Ramos in the press conference after his farewell.

"The first thing I want to say is that I never wanted to leave. My purpose was to continue here, the club offered me one-year offer with a salary deduction. I have to say there was no problem financially. I wanted two year and peace of mind for myself and my family"

"I accepted the offer for one-year, but I was told that the offers is out of the table, I have always wanted to continue in Madrid. Nobody is above the club, not a player or a coach".

What next for Sergio Ramos then? Where is his next possible destination?

It is quiet evident that Sergio Ramos is a winner and club that would acquire him will get the added boost of a experienced winner, he has won it all, The Champions league, The World Cup, The Euros you name it. At 35-years of age his days are numbered at the highest level of football, but there are a few good years left in him and his performance clearly states that.

Sevilla was an option but Ramos himself made it clear a move back to Seville is not possible as of now, with this the attention then draws to English clubs and the one which has been heavily linked with Ramos is Manchester United, Club legend Rio Ferdinand made a tweet regarding this which did have some divided opinions amongst the United fans on the possible transfer of Ramos coming to Old Trafford.

Alongside United there are interests from Chelsea and City but keeping in mind Guardiola has Ruben Dias and Laporte at the back of his defence they would not be keen to bring him on board at Ethihad, Another popular destination is France (PSG), the french team have been linked with Ramos from quiet a some time and it looks like now is the opportunity for them to get the player at free of cost, With no renewal of contract Ramos is a free agent which makes the move for many clubs a considerable one.

United and PSG looks to be in front chasing the signature of Sergio Ramos, it will be interesting to see how the Spanish superstar gels in with the new team, One thing the clubs will have to take a note is that Ramos has spent the most of his time last season on sidelines due to injuries and he hardly managed to get game time on the field, with an ageing defender who has had a grim season due to injuries, club will have to bet that the player shines on the return to his fitness.

There is no doubting the quality of the player and the affect he brings onto the field with his leadership qualities, but we will have to wait for now to see where Sergio Ramos heads and what lies ahead of him, Of course a football fan would like to see him give the best on the field when he returns back.
